Gulf Islands National Sea Shore at the end of Johnson beach, Perdido Key, Florida, USA. This photo shows that portion of the Federal park that has NO ROADS into it. The only way you can explore it is by foot or to use a boat to land on the sandy beach side of Big Lagoon (upper section of the photo) and explore from your boat. There is NO development allowed. There are no: restaurants, Condos, Villas, townhouses, real estate lots for sale, shops, trinket marketers, and little noise. This is a place that you can get away from it all (except for a few boats going past).

This belongs to us all and the charges to enter are very reasonable. You can obtain a yearly pass so that you can come every day or every week from the entrance at Perdido Key and Johnson Beach Road. After you enter the park you can drive about 3/4 of a mile and park at the public parking and then start your walk, swim or to have a picnic. If you like, you can drive about 2 miles further and there may possibly be a parking place alongside the road that you can leave your car and explore from there.
